Every word and every action has consequences.
Politics is not a game.
One thing to be clear of this manifesto is that I am not saying the students should not ask for a more fair and free election. I am also not indicating having a more democratic government is bad. I perfectly cherish the courage of the students, if they are not "TOO" courageous.
However, if you really care about a place, you should realize the consequences for every action.
A occupy like this will probably not reverse any decision of the Chinese government, and even if it did, the real effect of "fair" and "democratic" is probably not going to be enforced. What is meaningful about this umbrella revolution, is the form of expression itself. It made the international community and Beijing government heard their voices, and in this way I would say a peaceful demonstration like this is effective.
However, as time passes by, it seems the students take too long to finish their mission. The first government-student talk has been taken place, while the students now still continues the occupation.
But look at the people around you!!
The police officers have been in duty as you guys did.
The stability of Hong Kong is shaking.
Your family and your financial supporters need to earn money and now they need to work extra hard to restore the trust from the stock market holders.
Think carefully, does it still make sense and does it still worth it to occupy central?
Aren't there other ways you can change the future of Hong Kong by gaining more knowledge in the school and back to campus?
